Newly certified to conform to ISO 14001
The Sumitomo Corporation Group adopts an integrated authentication that allows management of multiple offices and organizations under a uniform environmental policy, which has been certified to conform to ISO 14001.
In 2016, third‐party audits were conducted by an independent auditing organization, Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA), for maintaining the current certification status (from July 11 to 15). The Sumitomo Corporation Group received approval as a result of the audits and We, Sumitomo Corporation Global Metals, were newly certified for participation in the integrated authentication as a company that environmental management system has been established.
Throughout its 400‐year history, the Sumitomo Group has pursued industrial development that co‐exists with local communities and the natural environment. Based on this foundation, the Sumitomo Corporation Group pursues business activities in such a way as to promote environmental conservation. Recognizing that environmental issues are long‐term concerns that all individuals and organizations must address, the Sumitomo Corporation Group has established our Environmental Policy.
